Creating Your Account

To create your SwimIntel account via credit card, go to https://swimintel.com/register/coach/ for the Coach tier or https://swimintel.com/register/research/ for the Research tier. Fill out the required information and click the “Sign Up” button at the bottom of the screen to complete registration. If paying by ACH or other means, contact support@swimintel.com for assistance.

You now have a SwimIntel account. For the Recruit tier, your entire staff will receive individual accounts, all linked to your base coaching staff account. To add or remove individual account access, contact support@swimintel.com.

Examples Of Things You Can Do With SwimIntel

Example Workflow 1: Find female 100Y BK recruits with the best AI predicted collegiate times. Use the Find Recruits application to find all 16-17 year old female recruits with a 100Y BK best time between 0:56.50 and 0:57.00. Save each recruit to a Recruit List. Sort the list by best SO+ PredictAI time to show who AI thinks will be top performers on your team from that list. View the club-to-college analytics for their current club to see which clubs historically produce swimmers that improve more in college.

Example Workflow 2: Search for a specific recruit by name to find all of their current best times and all AI predicted collegiate times. Use the Find Recruits application to find all current best SCY times for a specific recruit, searching by name. Save each event/time to a Recruit List. Sort the list by best SO+ PredictAI time to show what events AI thinks will be this swimmer’s best collegiate events and how those predicted times compare to conference/NCAA A/B-finals cut times.

Example Workflow 3: Analyze your recruiting class. Use the Find Recruits application to find all of your current recruit commits. Save their best event SCY times to a Recruit List. Show statistics on class event specialization and how many events are predicted to make conference/NCAA A/B-finals cut times.

College / Conference List

All colleges and conferences tracked in the SwimIntel database can be found by clicking on the Colleges link at the top toolbar. You can filter the conference view by Division I, Division II, Division III, or by individual conference by using the top left dropdown menu. You can search for an individual college or conference by using the search bar in the top toolbar. Different profiles are provided for men’s and women’s programs. All Division I conferences and colleges are tracked by SwimIntel. Select Division II and III conferences and colleges are tracked (but that number is growing!).

College Profiles

Each college profile contains extensive information about both the college and team including conference championship times, conference performance, academic requirements, Freshman to Sophomore retention, roster demographics, website, social handles, cost of attendance, coaching staff, and more. Information in your team’s profile can be updated by request by contacting support@swimintel.com.

Team Performance

Clicking on more details in a college profile’s Swimmer Improvement section will take you to the team performance page. Here you can see how well a coaching staff/college team progresses swimmers from their high school best times. The Freshman improvement data shows the average improvement of all swimmers on the team from their high school best times for their top two events to their Freshman times. This will give you a general idea of how well student-athletes acclimate to that school’s/team’s environment during their Freshman year. The Junior/Senior improvement data shows the average improvement of Junior/Senior swimmers on the team from their high school best times for their top two events to their best college times. This will give you a general idea of how well the coaching staff progresses their swimmers through their college careers.

The min/max/avg improvement data for all Division I programs is shown on the top graph for reference (even if analyzing a Division II or III team). Current swimmer progression details can also be seen in the table. Only the top two events for each swimmer are shown as this is the likely training focus of those swimmers. More detailed information about how SwimIntel metrics are generated can be found at https://swimintel.com/analyzing-colleges/. Missing data, roster corrections, etc. in your team’s swimmer improvement section can be updated by request by contacting support@swimintel.com.

Conference Profiles

Each conference profile contains statistics, analysis, and information about the conference and colleges within the conference. Conference championship times, conference championships rankings, Freshman improvement rankings, Junior/Senior improvement rankings, active swimmers, average team size, and more can be found for each conference.

Favorites (Bookmarks)

You can bookmark colleges and conferences that are interesting to you by clicking on the star icon beside the college/conference name in its profile. All favorites are listed and linked at User -> Favorites. Clicking on the college/conference logo will take you to that school’s profile. You can unfavorite a college/conference by clicking on the star icon of an already favorited school/conference.

PredictAI™ App

The SwimIntel PredictAI™ app predicts the future performance of a recruit using a sophisticated predictive AI model trained on data from 15,000+ college swimmers originating from 2,500+ clubs. The PredictAI™ app can be found at User -> PredictAI™ or directly at https://swimintel.com/predictai. Using the app is easy. Simply fill in the required information in the six fields – Name, Gender, Current Club, Destination College, Event, and Best Event Time. Events and times can only be short course yards for the AI model. The Underperform/Overperform slider is used to modify the predicted performance based on the coach’s discretion. For example, if a coach believes a particular recruit has more potential than the model predicts, the Overperform slider can be set to the right (+) to one of four levels.

Click the ANALYZE button to predict the freshman and college best performance of a particular recruit. The output box (below the ANALYZE button) will display predicted times and compare each time to conference championship A-final and B-final cut time for last season’s championship meet as well as for NCAA championships. A 🟢 symbol will be displayed for predicted times that are at or better than A/B-final cut times. Team, conference, and NCAA division profiles are linked in the output box for quick reference.

Click the SAVE button to save an individual recruit’s prediction to a new or existing selected Recruit List. A new recruit list can be created by clicking on the <Create New List> option at the bottom of the dropdown selection. All recruit lists and saved predictions can be found at https://swimintel.com/reports.

Find and Save Recruits

High school recruits can be found by name, club, event, time, age, etc. using SwimIntel’s “Find Recruits” application. This will allow you to quickly see all SCY best times for a potential recruit, save the recruit to a recruit list, and instantly see the AI predictions for that recruit through college, at your college. A link to “Find Recruits” can be found at User -> Reports. The direct link is at https://swimintel.com/find.

The filter options on the right can be used to quickly find recruits that fit your specific search criteria. For example, you can use these filters to quickly find all female high school recruits with a 100Y BK best time between 0:55.50 and 0:57.00. Or, you can show all high school swimmers at a specific club.

Each row in the list provides several useful links. The + icon on the right will save a recruit to a saved recruit list. When saved, AI predicted times will be automatically generated and displayed in the selected recruit list view. Clicking on the name of a recruit in the table will show all events/best times available for that recruit. Clicking on the name of the club will show all high school swimmers in that club that fit the selected filter criteria in the filter box (e.g. show all 200Y IM swimmers at Club X that are 15-16 females). Clicking on the chart icon beside the clubname will show the club-to-college analytics for that particular club.

You can search for a specific swimmer and display all of that swimmer’s times using the search field in the top middle. Hitting “enter” will initiate a search for that swimmer.

Saved Recruit Lists

All saved recruit lists and predictions can be found at User -> Reports or directly at https://swimintel.com/reports. Click on the list icon to open the respective recruit list. A new recruit list can be created by clicking on the “Create New Recruit List” icon.

All individual users who are members of the same college coaching staff share all recruit lists. If you create a new list, everyone on your coaching staff will be able to view that list. No SwimIntel user outside of your coaching staff can see your lists or any saved recruits/predictions. To remove an individual account from your coaching staff account, contact support@swimintel.com.

Viewing a Recruit List

All available recruit lists can be accessed at https://swimintel.com/reports. Opening a list will display each recruit/prediction as a row in a table. Men and women recruits are separated into different tables. Each row shows the recruit’s name, class year, destination college, origin club, event, high school best time, predicted freshman time, predicted college best time, best time vs conference A-final/B-final cut time, best time vs NCAA championship A-final/B-final cut time, and label. All fields are automatically generated by a saved PredictAI™ App prediction except class year and label. These fields can be set by clicking on the three-dot menu at the far right of a prediction row and clicking on “Edit Recruit”.

*note: Label is a general-purpose field that can be set to any text desired. For example, Label can be used to designate a recruit’s status or provide additional information. The values used for Label can be used to filter and sort the recruit list table. Labels are limited to a max of 20 characters.

Sorting a Recruit List

A recruit list can be sorted by clicking on any of the column header names at the top of the table. For example, clicking on the “Name” header will sort the entire table by name. Clicking the “Event” header will sort the table by event type.

Filtering a Recruit List

A recruit list can be filtered by selecting the Class Filter, Event Filter, and/or Label Filter dropdown list. For example, clicking on the “100Y BR” event in the Event Filter dropdown will show only recruit predictions for 100Y breaststroke. All custom labels will be shown in the Label Filter dropdown. It can be useful to create a filtered view of a large recruit list by showing only recruits’ current status (Label) such as “contacted”, “offered”, or “committed”.

Renaming a Recruit List

A recruit list can be renamed by clicking on the three-dot menu beside a recruit list name on the reports page and selecting “Rename Recruit List”.

Export to CSV

A filtered, sorted table view in a recruit list can be exported to CSV by clicking on the three-dot menu at the top right of the table (beside the filter dropdowns) and clicking on “Download as CSV”. Only the women’s or the men’s table can be exported into a single CSV. Only the rows showing will be exported (i.e. however the table is filtered/sorted is how the CSV will be exported).

Edit a Recruit’s Information

A recruit’s information can be modified by clicking on the three-dot menu at the far right in a recruit prediction row and clicking on “Edit Recruit”. Changing “Event”, “HS Best Time”, “” or “Performance Factor” will re-run the AI model prediction for the respective recruit.

View a Recruit’s Details

The details of a recruit’s AI-predicted times can be viewed by clicking on the three-dot menu at the far right in a recruit prediction row and clicking on “View Details”.

View Recruit List Statistics

Statistics for the entire recruit list can be viewed by clicking on the three-dot menu at the top right of the table (beside the filter dropdowns) and clicking on “View Statistics”. This will generate statistics for all recruits in the current filtered view.

The bar chart shows a breakdown of the percentage of events in the filtered view of a certain type (e.g. freestyle sprint events, IM events). This chart can be used to quickly visualize the event specialties represented in a certain recruit list.

The statistics below the bar chart show the percentage of AI-predicted times in the filtered view that are within the cut times of last season’s conference A/B-finals and NCAA A/B-finals.

Copy a Recruit

A recruit’s prediction can be copied to another recruit list or a copy can be created in the existing list by clicking on the three-dot menu at the far right in a recruit prediction row and clicking on “Copy Recruit”. Choose the recruit list to create the copy in the popup box and click “SAVE”. This will create a new prediction row that can be modified independently of the original prediction.

Remove a Recruit Prediction

A recruit’s prediction can be removed by clicking on the three-dot menu at the far right in a recruit prediction row and clicking on “Remove”. You will be prompted to confirm deleting this prediction. Deleting a recruit’s prediction cannot be undone.

Remove a Recruit List

The entire recruit list can be deleted by clicking on the three-dot menu at the top right of the table (beside the filter dropdowns) and clicking on “Delete Recruit List”. This will delete the entire list, both men and women recruits. Deleting a recruit list cannot be undone. You will be prompted to type “DELETE” to confirm.

Club-to-College Analytics

Club-to-college analytics shows you how swimmers from specific clubs improve/progress in college. The charts at the top of an analytics table show the average improvement of all swimmers from a club (by gender) from their high school best times through freshman year of college and through all of college. The top two events (determined by FINA points) are displayed in the table and used for the calculations.

Club analytics can be accessed in four different places. The first is below the output box in the PredictAI app. Changing the “Current Club” dropdown will update the club-to-college table in the app. The second place club analytics can be accessed is by clicking on the club name in a recruit list. The third place is by clicking on the chart icon in the Find Recruits application. The fourth place is at the Club Rankings page.

Club-to-College Rankings

Rankings of club-to-college improvement for all clubs with at least 5 female or 5 male swimmers in college can be found at https://swimintel.com/club_rankings/. A link to these rankings can also be found at User -> Reports (https://swimintel.com/reports). Clicking on the club name in the rankings list will open its details.
